The soles of the feet, the first point of contact between humans and earth, represent the connection of us to the space we inhabit. Each step is another in our journey through life and experience.

This was inspired by a passage I read some time ago in "Women Who Run with the Wolves” by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés which "an acculturated Kiché tribeswoman once told me that she’d worn her first pair of shoes when she was twenty years old and was still not used to walking con los ojos vendados, with blindfolds on her feet.”.

The idea of feeling blindfolded by shoes was really powerful for me.
